We need folks to come out to build during the Raise the Roof days of March 5, 6, and 7. We also need a small group or Sunday School class to volunteer to make lunch for the work crew on Friday, March 6.

Lenten Worship
This Lenten season is for us a time of discernment as a congregation. Where is God leading us? Who is God calling us to be? As you prepare for worship, and as we prepare to follow God, meditate on this prayer, written by Ken Cox, a member of our Discernment Team, a group of volunteers helping to guide our church through this process: Lord, grant us the confidence to be who we are, and the courage to be who we are not.
Lenten Music Schedule for March:
Thank You - Valentine's Banquet
HoneyBaked
Thank You - Caring Tree
Dear Dr. Caldwell,
Once again thank you and Broadway for the use of your space for our Caring Tree initiative. We are particularly pleased that the Friendship Hall was available to use this year. I hope the church has a sense of their contribution to the improved Christmas that 251 of our employees will experience because of the availability of space and help of the staff.
Getting ready for us and accommodating us during the day takes a lot of time and attention. My thanks to the members of your team who have been so very kind and helpful all along the way along.
Sincerely,
Rev. Ronald Oliver, Ph.D.
System vice President, Mission & Outreach
Thank You - West End School
To all of you at Broadway Baptist,
Thank you so much for your contribution to the West End School. We promise you that it has been put to good (and immediate) use. Each and every day staff strives to help these vulnerable boys become strong students and develop into fine, capable young men. Your faithful support has meant so much to so many of the students. We cannot thank you enough for being such a significant participant in their lives.
Sincerely,
Deborah and Robert Blair
Thank You,
To my church family at Broadway Baptist,
We want to express our thanks for the encouragement we received through your prayers, kind words, and hugs throughout the recent illness and recent death of my father. You are the presence of Christ to us and we are grateful. Earth is down one for heaven's gain.

Loss and Grief
Soup and Blanket collection
Throughout the month of February, the Love in Action Bins will be used to collect “hearty” canned soups and blankets to be used by the Samaritan Patrol who work with the homeless in our community. Please leave the items in the bins in the Atrium, Friendship Hall, or by the office.

Jubilate
The youth choir at Broadway participated in the Jubilate Winter Retreat in Atlanta January 16-19. They joined their voices with over 100 other youth, from likeminded churches, in preparation for two winter concerts and their summer tour. We look forward to hosting this choir here at Broadway the first full week of June.
Ash Wednesday Service and Lenten Theme - Discernment
We will begin our Lenten journey in the chapel at 6:10 p.m., on Wednesday, February 18. Please note this will take place immediately after our Wednesday night meal. Our Lenten theme this year will center on discernment. Some of the visual aids to help us along this path will be our hand-crafted wooden Lenten crosses – located in the sanctuary windows, along with cards to explain different stations of the Cross.
