Broadway Baptist Church hosts the Louisville Orchestra! Be sure to arrive early!
The Outreach Committee is hosting a Community-Wide Block Party, which will feature live music, food, Steel City Pops, a small farmer’s market, and games and activities for children of all ages. Free admission and parking, but bring cash to support local vendors.
In many ways, we are now entering the most challenging period of the interim. By the time you read this article, the Ad Hoc Committee will have presented their recommendations to the Deacons who will have a month to think about and discuss the material before voting on their recommendation at the May Deacons’ meeting. This recommendation will come to the Church Business Meeting on May 23.
Please join us for the movie, Wonder, at our new time, 11 a.m. Enter through office door, take elevator to second floor, Room E-204. New this month will be lunch following the movie. For May, we will dine at McAlisters Deli with lunch on your own. Please call the church office at 502.895.2459 by Thursday, May 10, to let us know you plan on attending the movie and/or lunch.

Sunday, December 1, 11 a.m., Sanctuary
Join us as we adorn our sanctuary with garlands, wreaths, candles, chrismons, and poinsettias to welcome the Advent season. Our theme this Advent is Gifts of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love through the eyes of our Mission Partners. As tradition, our stoles and banners will be changed to Advent Blue. This is to inspire hope, and to encourage us to keep watch for the promised light of Christ, changing night into day, darkness into light, and filling our lives with hope, love, joy, and peace.
The 2017-2018 Children’s Choir has participated in worship more than any Children’s Choir in the past six years at Broadway. Truly, this is a talented group of children and they have grown so much in their musical and spiritual knowledge and understanding this year. In addition, they have inspired us and enhanced our worship experiences numerous times, and we are grateful for their musical offerings in worship. Their last opportunity to sing in worship this semester is planned for May 13, Mother’s Day.
Thanks to everyone who came out for Blaze Pizza Night - our fundraiser for the new preschool/kindergarten option at Creative Arts Camp. We filled the place with more than 103 people. Though I have not gotten the official numbers from Blaze, with individual donations and estimated proceeds from Blaze, we raised at least $1,280!
Resurrection Sunday, April 1
After traveling down the path of our Lenten theme, God of Wilderness and Water, we will gather to celebrate the resurrection of Christ as we are led by the Chancel Choir and instrumentalists in our Alleluias. Come to Broadway to celebrate Christ is Risen. Christ is Risen indeed!
Delight in great music in a cozy setting as our Courtyard Concerts return in May! Join us on Sunday, May 6, immediately following worship in our newly renovated courtyard. Musicians from the Louisville Orchestra are our featured guests, and a great meal is provided by Gracious Plenty.
Admission is $10, and everyone is welcome! Space is limited, so please make a reservation by calling the church office at 502.895.2459.
Whether you’re an aspiring chef, guitarist, or photographer, our annual Creative Arts Camp is reserving a spot just for you! For children who have completed first through sixth grades, join us August 6-9 for a day camp centered around the creative spirit. Registration is $50 per camper and everyone is encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch daily.
August 6 - 9, 2018
Save the date for Broadway’s 5th Annual Creative Arts Camp, and be sure to let your friends and neighbors know about this unique event Broadway hosts for children each summer. Children who have completed first through sixth grades gather to learn about God through the arts, including choir, visual art, culinary art, and many different types of instruments!
This year, we will add a concurrent component for children in preschool and kindergarten. More information to come!
The season of Lent is an ancient tradition of the Church. Beginning with Ash Wednesday, Christians across the world participate in a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal.
This year, we will experience Lent anew through the theme God of Wilderness and Water. We invite you to journey with us as we meet God in unexpected places.
