Blessing of Teachers and Students
On Sunday, August 12, we are celebrating Promotion Sunday for our youth and children, and the conclusion of Creative Arts Camp.
Again this year, we will honor Promotion Sunday by blessing teachers and students from within our congregations and community during worship. We hope this will be a meaningful time of prayer and encouragement as we lift up those among us who will spend the next 10 months learning, teaching, and investing in the lives of the youngest members of our community.
To celebrate the wonderful things our children learned and experienced during Creative Arts Camp, the children will lead us in worship through song.

Jubilate Youth Choir Concert
The 2017 Jubilate Summer Tour begins at Broadway Baptist Church on June 6. The choir, made up of youth from church choirs around the Southeast, will gather on Tuesday for rehearsal and then sing a concert in our sanctuary on Wednesday night, June 7, at 7 p.m. On June 8-11, the choir will travel south to Macon, Ga., with several stops along the way.

PRP Choir Sings Mozart's Requiem
On Wednesday, May 3, the Pleasure Ridge Park High School Advanced Choirs will perform Mozart’s Requiem under the direction of Phillip Jennings in the Sanctuary of Broadway Baptist Church at 7 p.m. This concert is free and open to the public.
This performance features student soloists Meredith Ailiff, Kyrsten Humphrey, Noah Bruce, and Paris Howard. The orchestra consists of Louisville Orchestra members, Bellarmine Instrumental faculty, and student musicians from Atherton High School, under the direction of Nelson Dougherty.
Please consider attending not only to support Phillip, but also to help further Broadway’s mission of reaching “beyond the walls of our church” by making the community members, students, and musicians welcome in our space as we share in a beautiful evening of music making.

Fall Retreat
The Youth Fall Retreat will be October 7-9 at Christian Lake Retreat Center, just south of Scottsburg, IN. We will leave Friday evening to drive up, and will be home before lunch on Sunday. Our theme for the retreat this year will be different forms of prayer. The cost to attend is $30 per student. Holiday World
All youth are invited to participate in the annual summer trip to Holiday World on Wednesday, July 27. This will be the first trip for our rising 6th graders, so be sure we are there to warmly welcome them to the group. Cost for the trip will be $40 (plus meals). We will meet in the lower parking lot of the church at 9 am to leave. Please sign up by letting Chris Liles know you're coming by Wednesday, July 20.

The annual Youth Valentine's Dinner will be held Wednesday, February 17! Youth Retreat
The Youth Fall Retreat will held at Camp Loucon in Leitchfield, KY this year from October 16-18. Over the course of the weekend, the youth will have the opportunity to bond through Bible Study, games, bonfires, S’macos (think s’mores, but in a taco shell with peanut butter!), and last but not least, this year we will have the opportunity to participate in the low ropes course on campus there! This will be a fantastic weekend that you will not want to miss!

Holiday World
Christmas might still be 6 months away, and folks won't gather around the Thanksgiving table for a while now, which makes it the perfect time for the annual youth trip to Holiday World! We will head to Holiday World on Tuesday, July 14. The cost will be $35 per student. In addition to their usual rides, they are opening up a new roller coaster this year that is the first of its kind in the world! To sign up, please pay your $35 to Chris Liles by Sunday, July 5. We will need chaperones as well!

Jubilate Summer Youth Choir
The Jubilate Summer Youth Choir will be singing here at BBC on Monday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. Two years ago this group of over 100 youth blessed us with their singing and commitment to church music ministry. This is a concert you will want to invite your family and friends to attend. Please spread the word and make plans to attend.In addition, we will be in need of numerous host homes for these youth and their chaperons. If you can assist us in this ministry of hospitality, please contact Robert, the church office, or someone on the music committee.
