2015 Music/Worship Ministry Plan

Congregational/Community 

1. Courtyard Concert Series:  Spring, Summer, Fall…average of 50 people: April 19 Music Educators from BBC,                                                             May 19 Violinist Nancy Stadil, June 3 Commonwealth Brass Band, July 30 Jazz
2.  Host the Holiday Concert and have the Chancel Choir Sing, Tuesday, December 15 
3. Host a College and/or High School Choir in the sanctuary:  Ballard HS on March 30 and 31 and  Jubilate 6/8

Children’s Choirs

1. Increase involvement of children‘s choir in worship to once a quarter:  Update: 2/8; 3/29, 5/10, 10/18, 11/29
2. Host Creative Arts Camp in the summer with a goal of 40 participants Update:  35 attended on July 27-30
3. Create a communication tool with parents on a monthly basis:  Update:  email letter 2/2, 3/20,5/, 11/2, 12/3

Youth Choir

1. Collaborate with the chancel choir two times within the year: Update:  this was done all four quarters
2. Participate in Jubilate in January and June:  Update:  12 participated on 1/16-19, 11 participated on 6/6-11
3. Increase worship participation to once a quarter:  Feb. March, May, Sept (2 times), Nov. 8, Nov. 29, Dec. 24

 Chancel Choir

1. Increase attendance by 5%...not attainable this year
2. Create opportunities for the men and ladies to sing as separate ensembles:  ladies in Feb. Men in March, ladies in Nov.
3. Develop care groups within the choir:  Update:  Established in Feb

Instrumentalists

1. Bell choirs participate in worship once a quarter: Chancel Bells Feb. and March  Youth Bells March, both in May, both in Sept.  both in Nov.
2. Increase the participation of our own talented instrumentalists Flute, Cello, String Quartet, Bass and Guitar, Clarinet, classical guitar, jazz guitar, flute, numerous times this was accomplished
3. Usage of Louisville Orchestra players throughout the year:  Feb.  March (2) April, May, October, Nov, Dec

Maintaining Church Instruments/Choral Library/Web Page  

1. Maintain contracts with the piano and organ tuners/repair choir room piano Update: Major  Piano work 7/13, Organ work 7/20, chapel organ in October
2. Cleaning of choir robes this summer Update:  Cleaned in July
3. Work to promote music events on the Web:  usage of you tube every month this year; CAC, Courtyard

Worship

1. Sing 150 different hymns within the context of worship:  Update:  surpassed this goal
2. Provide one Hymn Festival and/or Favorite Anthem Concert:  Update:  May 27th
3. Host the 2015 Jubilate Summer Tour Home Concert:  Update:  June 8
