The 2017-2018 Children’s Choir has participated in worship more than any Children’s Choir in the past six years at Broadway. Truly, this is a talented group of children and they have grown so much in their musical and spiritual knowledge and understanding this year. In addition, they have inspired us and enhanced our worship experiences numerous times, and we are grateful for their musical offerings in worship. Their last opportunity to sing in worship this semester is planned for May 13, Mother’s Day.

Please join Broadway's children and families to enjoy a summer kick-off in the Family Life Center parking lot (weather permitting). We will have inflatables, games, and a family-friendly cook-out. This is an inter-generational event, so all are welcome! In the event of inclement weather, we will move the festivities inside to the gym and Family Life Center.
Thanks to everyone who came out for Blaze Pizza Night - our fundraiser for the new preschool/kindergarten option at Creative Arts Camp. We filled the place with more than 103 people. Though I have not gotten the official numbers from Blaze, with individual donations and estimated proceeds from Blaze, we raised at least $1,280!

After traveling down the path of our Lenten theme, God of Wilderness and Water, we will gather to celebrate the resurrection of Christ as we are led by the Chancel Choir and instrumentalists in our Alleluias. Come to Broadway to celebrate Christ is Risen. Christ is Risen indeed!

On March 8-10, I had the opportunity to attend three days of Godly Play training in Atlanta. Godly Play is a creative method for children to explore the stories of our faith, build community together, and begin to listen to the word of God in their lives. Through the art of story telling and the use of a wide range of materials to engage the children within the story, Godly Play leads children into a process of wondering to discover how God is working in and through the stories - even 2,000 years after they were written!
A few rain clouds didn't spoil their day! Special thanks to all who helped make this year's Easter Egg Hunt on March 23 such a success!

Save the date for Broadway’s 5th Annual Creative Arts Camp, and be sure to let your friends and neighbors know about this unique event Broadway hosts for children each summer. Children who have completed first through sixth grades gather to learn about God through the arts, including choir, visual art, culinary art, and many different types of instruments!
This year, we will add a concurrent component for children in preschool and kindergarten. More information to come!
The season of Lent is an ancient tradition of the Church. Beginning with Ash Wednesday, Christians across the world participate in a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal.
This year, we will experience Lent anew through the theme God of Wilderness and Water. We invite you to journey with us as we meet God in unexpected places.

In January, the elementary children hosted friends from Buechel Park Baptist Church for a sleepover in the Family Life Center. The students played games together, worked on crafts, and had an evening devotion before bedtime and a movie. The children have already talked about how excited they are to do this again next year, and invite other churches!
This year, the Children’s Committee created a new tradition we are calling Lenten Prayer Chain. One of the most important things we can do during Lent is turn to God in prayer. We know that most of our families already have a tradition of praying before meals or before you go to bed.

Wetraveled to camp with Buechel Park Baptist Church, one of our Louisville partner churches, and met new friends from First Baptist Middletown and Lexington Avenue Baptist of Danville, Ky. The children all had a great time together, and are now begging us for a joint lock-in this fall!
