Growth In Younger Populations

A.     Children’s Choir Emphasis

1. Emphasis on recruitment and worship participation:  Average of 9  Sang three times in worship this past fall and two times in worship this spring.
2. Move Children to Sunday night to increase involvement:  This was successful in the fall. Thus, we will continue the same format in the winter.  In addition, we had 12 school age children who sang at  the Christmas music presentation in December, along with 6 preschool children. Average attendance increased 25% over the year.

B.    Creative Arts Summer Camp

1. Seek to expand enrollment to 50 children:  42 enrolled this past August. The dates for 2017 are set for July 31-August 3 from 9 a.m. -1 p.m.
2. Seek to determine interest in a middle school format:  Did not come to fruition

C.    Young Adult Ensemble/Intergenerational Ensemble

1. Singing more often in worship and/or social functions: Sang two times this fall  
2. Serve as both a public relations and recruitment tool: Did not come to fruition

Diversity and Openness

A. Host High School or Middle School Choirs/Retreats at BBC: Hosted PRP H.S. choir in January and again in May
B. Provide more opportunities for inter generational choral experiences:  Bellarmine University Performed their Christmas Concert here, December 4. PRP sang here in worship in February
C. Invite more community involvement with the Courtyard Concert Series.  April 23 - Harpist, May 21 Mandolin Orchestra, June 21 A Cappella Fellas

Outside the Walls

A.    Youth Choir participating in the winter and summer Jubilate choral experience:  8 attending this January, the Summer Tour was June 6-11 and we had a great crowd here at BBC
B.     Host the Holiday Concert by the Louisville Orchestra:  Completed December 13, 2016
C.    Chancel Choir singing with the Louisville Chorus in a public concert:  Came to fruition on October 23

Balancing Traditions and Values

A.    Practice the different types of prayers in our worship services:  2 times this fall, two times in the winter, and served as the theme for Lent 2017, 2 more times in the spring
B.     Provide services or elements of blessing within our worship services:  Implemented numerous times throughout the church year and enhanced our worship experiences 
C.    Encourage and support quality choral literature that runs the gamut of styles:  Classical, Spirituals,   
        and Hymn arrangements used in the fall and Advent season.

We have sung 76 different hymn through the first 6 months of the year!
