Broadway Welcomes Kristin Belcher as Interim Youth Minister

Broadway parents are celebrating the arrival of Rev. Kristin Belcher, who has joined us as an interim youth minister. “As a parent, I have to say Broadway is so blessed to have such an experienced and talented minister to serve with our youth!” Melissa Barman said. “We are so eager to see her in action.”

A native of Boyle County, Kristin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky, a Master’s in Science and Social Work from the University of Louisville, and a Master of Divinity from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Despite holding degrees from both UK and UL, she remains a passionate and enthusiastic Wildcats fan.

Kristin previously served as Youth Minister at First Baptist, Frankfort, was a staff member atPASSPORTkids! Camp, and has planned numerous state-wide and local youth ministry events in the past. She has a twin sister who has blessed her with two wonderful nephews, Jaxon and Parker, as well as a niece, Phoenix. “They are the joy of my life,” she said. “And I have a third nephew who will be making his appearance on October 24!”

She began work at Broadway in late September, and will primarily focus on Sundays with additional planning time throughout the week. She will be sending out weekly communications and will be available for pastoral care needs with our youth and families should they arise.

She is most excited to work with the youth committee to plan great annual events like DiscipleNOW and the countless activities, events, and fundraisers that support the youth activities.
