The workshops we are having have been designed to prepare the congregation for what everybody wants to discuss: the future. Beginning in 2018, our workshops will focus on subjects that require the input of as many people as possible because we will be discussing those things that will shape what is to come for Broadway.
Here is a list of the eight workshops that will begin in January, although no specific dates have been set:
Developing an Identity Statement for Broadway
Dreaming Big Dreams for Broadway’s Future
Our Baptist Tradition
Finding Your New Pastor: The Work of the Pastor Search Committee
Developing the Pastoral Leadership Expectations Survey
Ministry Myths
Twelve Suggestions for Welcoming Your New Pastor
Seven Sources of Conflict in Churches (Spotting the Red Flags)
As always, copies of the responses to questions asked in the workshops will be available at the succeeding workshop. Copies of any of the discussions are always available to anyone through the church office.
In the meantime? Remember the cardinal rule: there is nothing you can’t do right now in terms of ministry and mission that you can do when the new pastor arrives. You are the church – the body of Christ. We are not treading water until we can become the people of God in this place for this time. That is who we are right now!
