Worship Care

When families come before the church to dedicate their lives to nurturing the spiritual development of their children, we as a church commit to partnering with them, introducing their children to the love of the God who created them. So far this year, we have spoken the covenantal words of the dedication litany four times, with even more to come!

As the number of children at Broadway continues to grow, our need for caring, nurturing individuals who take the words of the dedication litany to heart grows as well.

Worship Care volunteers are often the first people children meet when they come to Broadway. As such, they become one of the first examples of Christ’s love that children will encounter. Likewise, these volunteers share the love of Christ with Broadway’s families - old and new alike - by allowing them to worship God knowing that their children are cared for and loved.

Our parents are currently scheduled for six Sundays a year of Worship Care volunteering. When volunteers do not show up, parents end up being the first “on call,” simply due to the fact that they were dropping their children off in the nursery. Far too often, young couples in the church are not afforded the opportunity to worship together on Sunday mornings.

One of the most tangible ways that you can uphold the words spoken during the dedication litany is through volunteering in our Worship Care ministry. You can sign up for a particular number of Sundays (even one Sunday a year will make a huge impact to the Worship Care ministry), and choose your preference of age group (babies, toddlers, preschool, elementary). Descriptions for each role are available on the website.

Please consider helping with this vital ministry. Your investment impacts the lives of so many in our community.

If you are willing to serve in this ministry, please contact Emily Holladay at
