Interim Information
In August 2017, Chris Caldwell, our pastor of 15 years, ended his ministry at Broadway Baptist Church. Our church’s guiding documents call for our lay leaders (deacons) to present what is called a Search Committee to the church. These volunteers will conduct a national search, which includes gathering resumes, listening to sermons, and doing interviews. They ultimately will bring a candidate “in view of a call,” which means this person will come and meet the people of the church, preach a trial sermon, and then be voted on by the church. There is no system in our tradition for an outside entity “appointing” someone. During the interim, we will be led by an Interim Minister, Ron Higdon, and our team of Associate Pastors.
All information distributed to the church during the interim will be available on this page for the use of church members.
