On April 8, we will begin distribution of the booklet, Getting Ready for a New Pastor and a New Future. It contains my full report for the final phase of our interim ministry. Much of it is new material, but you will also find summary items from some of our workshops that I believe we need to keep in mind as we move into the process of calling a new pastor. Following worship on Sunday April 29, there will be a luncheon and the opportunity to discuss the booklet as well as any questions you might have about the interim process.
Chris Caldwell has an excellent article in the current issue of Herald on the ministry of Grady Nutt. It is titled: Remembering Baptists’ “Prime Minister of Humor.” I wrote a large “Amen!” in the margin following his concluding sentence: “My, do we need Grady Nutt back again.” A limited number of copies of Herald are available in the church office. The magazine is a publication of Baptist News Global.
