The office seemed a bit dimmer when the Broadway staff returned from New Year’s, as we bid farewell to our long-time Congregational Care Coordinator, Carol Lundberg, in late December.
Carol, and her husband Ken, have been members at Broadway for the last 21 years, and active members in the Chancel Choir and numerous activities around the campus. A Louisville native, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University and an Masters of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky.
“Carol is such a delightful person,” Interim Pastor Ron Higdon beamed. “Her devotion to the people of Broadway speaks volumes on her character.”
Carol first joined the office staff in 2006, under the leadership of Chris Caldwell. She was often the first point of contact in the office, and her gracious personality shown through her daily interactions with staff, members, and the community. From handling our weekly concerns page, Wednesday night meals, to weddings, funerals, and baptisms, Carol’s giving heart is always so evident to those she meets.
“Carol is very caring, compassionate, and has a sincere heart and concern for the members of our church,” Church Administrator Betsy Cherry said. “She had a deep knowledge of the history of not only the church, but our families. Her departure leaves a big hole in our office.” Please join us in wishing Carol the best in her future endeavors. We are so grateful she continues to be a story that matters here at Broadway.
