All Saints Sunday, November 5, 11 a.m.
Broadway will once again be honoring the legacies of those we love and have lost during All Saints Sunday on November 5 in our worship service.
In this meaningful time, we will be reading scripture, singing songs, lighting candles, and thanking God for the saints who have gone before us. More specifically, we will read aloud the names of those beloved church members who have passed since our previous All Saints service. And, ever mindful that many of us also grieve losses in our families and circle of friends, there will be a time for remembrance and reflection.
As part of the grieving process for Broadway members, the church presents Yahrzeit candles to mark the one-year anniversary of the death of a spouse, parent, sibling, or child. It is a tradition adopted from the Jewish faith as a reminder of God’s presence through grief. The Yahrzeit candles we bless during this service will be personally delivered in the coming year to those in Broadway’s family of faith who have lost a loved one.
