Service in September: September 19

Service in September is a church-wide time of service in our community to commemorate the tragedy of 9/11 with a positive spirit of serving those around us. The Missions Committee has organized a variety of projects for all ages. Participants can sign up for a project on Sunday mornings in the Atrium or by contacting Susan Reed at susanr@broadwaybaptist.org or 502.895.2459.

On the day of the event, participants meet in Friendship Hall for breakfast at 8:30 a.m., with projects taking place from 9 a.m. – 12p.m.

Projects available for all ages and skill sets include:

Burrito Rolling for the Burrito Riders, a group of bikers that deliver breakfast burritos to homeless in Louisville. This grassroots operation feeds those who need it, becoming community with the homeless and hungry as a way of spreading Christ’s love. Participants who sign up for this option will make burritos for the bikers to deliver. This project is held at the church and suitable for all ages. To find out more, visit their website at http://burritoriders.org/

Chenoweth Elementary - Participants of all ages will head to Chenoweth Elementary after breakfast to work in in their Outdoor Science Lab. Children and youth are welcome, provided they can do basic yard work!
