Broadway has a long tradition of involvement in mission activities. We have over 200 people actively involved in “hands on” mission projects throughout the year. These projects are local, statewide and international in scope. Our recently completed major mission projects include participation in Kentucky Baptist Fellowship’s Extreme Build. We fund our mission projects through our operating budget, dedicated donations, and fund raisers.

Chenoweth Elementary – Chenoweth Elementary is a Jefferson County public elementary school that is located very close to Broadway. Chenoweth enrolls about 515 students from diverse backgrounds, both racially and economically. Broadway is involved with Chenoweth in many different ways including providing “goodie bags” and breakfast for faculty and staff, Disciple NOW and Service in September service projects, collection of items for the Family Resource Center, and the support of students through the Angel Tree at Christmas. West End School – The West End School is a free, private, college prep elementary and middle school for at-risk young men. The school exists because of the growing need for alternative forms of education, particularly for the young men in the Louisville community. Boys especially are at higher risk for almost every index of failure: academic, achievement, truancy, dropout rates, school suspensions and expulsions, delinquency, and incarceration. The West End School strives to address these issues by creating a culture of high expectations through rigorous academic and personal standards. West End School graduates have been offered more than $2 million in scholarships to many of the top high schools in the state. For more information please visit www.westendschool.org.

Americana – Americana Community Center is a non-profit organization that provides a spectrum of services to the diverse individuals and families of the Louisville area including refugees, immigrants, and those born in the U.S. Americana currently serves individuals from 36 zip codes across Louisville and from 96 countries around the world. Choices Inc. – Choices Inc. is a Louisville based non-profit organization that operates four permanent supported housing services for women and families experiencing homelessness as well as case management for clients with goal setting and referrals. Family Scholar House – The Family Scholar House is changing lives, families and communities through education. Their mission is to end the cycle of poverty and transform the Louisville community by empowering families and youth to succeed in education and achieve life-long self-sufficiency. Habitat Baptist House – Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian ministry that builds homes for and with people in need regardless of race or religion. Every year several Baptist congregations from the Louisville area, including Broadway, get together to build a Habitat house.
