Youth Ministries

Susan Reed, Minister with Youth

Broadway Baptist Church's youth ministry exists to expose teenagers to God's saving grace, equip teenagers for life through the study of scripture, exalt God through our lifestyles, enjoy hanging out with friends and experience the joy of serving others.

Our ministry includes the following annual activities.

Back to School Party

Each year, the Youth group has a party prior to the start of the school year at the home of one of the church members.

Fall Retreat

The retreat is a time to study scripture and learn how God wants us to live.

Strictly Off Broadway

This dinner and entertainment revue held in September showcases our Youth's talents. The event is a major fundraiser for Youth programs and trips.

Disciple NOW Weekend

Disciple NOW, held annually the first weekend in November, is a weekend focused on growing in your relationship with Christ and serving the community. Students in grades 6 - 12 are grouped by grades and stay in church members' homes throughout the weekend. This year, SojournFare, a music group out of Nashville will be our primary leaders along with other college students.

Passport

Passport is a mission-oriented camp for grades 6-12. The mornings are spent in Bible Study and the afternoons are spent doing missions and having free time. The evenings are spent in worship and nightly parties. Broadway's youth attended Passport 2005 at Stetson Univerity in Daytona, FL.

New York Mission Trip

During the summer of 2004, Broadway sent a group of high school-age students on a mission trip to New York City. Working with the Metro Baptist Church of Manhattan, the group planned and managed day camps for 80 area children at sites in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan and in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

Valentines Banquet

This fundraising dinner also highlights our Youth's talents. Funds are raised to support Youth programs and trips.

Broadway Choral Ensemble

This mixed choir is open to youth in 6th - 12th grades. Interim Minister of Music Noel Weaver, directs the Choral Ensemble. Members are challenged to perform on a professional level and work with contemporary, as well as traditional, Christian music.

The Broadway Choral Ensemble typically tours within neighboring states performing a contemporary Christian musical in the spring.

Youth Snack Supper

Sunday Night After Church

Known as SNAC and scheduled the 3rd Sunday of each month, SNAC is held in various church members' homes. All Youth are encouraged to attend for fun and fellowship!

Open Gym

Broadway's Family Life Center is opened for Youth for games, fellowship, movies and fun.

Student Impact

This Youth discussion group focuses on evangelism, discipleship, worship, fellowship and missions.

M-Night

Once a month, Youth have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on mission project.

Youth Schedule

The Youth Program schedule runs September – May to coincide with the school year. Activities vary during the summer months.
