Extreme Build

In June of this year, Broadway participated again in Extreme Build. Extreme Build is Kentucky Baptist Fellowship’s annual home construction project in McCreary County that brings together churches and individuals, in partnership with local agencies to build a home in 10 days for a low-income family.

This year the 6th home (out of a 10-home commitment) was completed for Gail and Jerry and their two children Kesha (21 yrs.) and Zachery (16 yrs.). The Privetts live in Strunk, Kentucky, just a few miles north of the Tennessee line off Hwy. 27. Surrounded by family, Jerry’s three brothers border his property, and his parents are a field away. Whitley City is the hub of our Extreme Build activities, and where volunteers find room and board and plenty of family style meals – always followed up by a visit to the Dairy Bar!

Broadway has been a charter partner in Extreme Build since its inception. The Church demonstrates its service commitment through volunteering of hours, as well as monetary donations to fund this worthy cause. This year, more than a 100 volunteers (14 of which came from Broadway) contributed over 4000 hours to the Extreme Build project week!

We would love to have you join us for next year’s Extreme Build. If you are interested in participating, please contact the office.
