O God, we, your Baptist children, pause to pray for your Roman Catholic children.

We pray for those who have been the victims of abuse. May you help them to heal and to overcome any sense that they are to blame, for when one with power takes advantage of one without power, there is no excuse.

We pray for those within the Church that have made mistakes. May
you guide them in new paths.

We pray also for millions and millions of Roman Catholic Christians who have no part in any of this, who simply want to be witnesses for you in their faith and in their lives.

We pray for those who must suffer the embarrassment of seeing their
Church's mistakes in the headlines, for we ourselves have known days
when the buffoonery of Baptists has embarrassed us. Because we know
such days are hard,

We pray for our Catholic neighbors.
We pray for our Catholic friends.
We pray for priests in our city who serve faithfully their parishes
and our community.
We pray for priests and nuns who share your love through hospitals and charities.

We pray for Catholic scholars who bring to light the meaning of your Word.
We pray for Catholic missionaries, many of whom live and serve among
the poorest of the poor.

May you guide and bless all of us, your children, as we move forward in your grace.

Amen.
