Guided Prayer

I've been asked to circulate the guided prayer I led in worship January 22. It's something you might consider doing every day for a week or so.

Please take a moment of silence to clear your mind and move into a time of prayer. You might find it helpful to say silently three times: "Lord, hear my prayer."

Give thanks for something very important to you.
Give thanks for something you take for granted.
Pray for someone you love.
Pray for someone you don't like.
Pray for someone who makes far less money than you do.
Pray for someone who makes far more money than you do. 
Pray for someone who lives in your neighborhood.
Pray for someone who lives far away.
Pray for someone you know who is sick.
Pray for someone you know who is grieving.
Pray for someone you know who is angry.
Pray for someone you know who is lonely.
Pray for someone you know who does not have a meaningful relationship with Christ or Christ's Church.
Consider the ways you might have fallen short this week in your Christian walk, and ask God to forgive you.
Now conclude your prayer however you wish, perhaps by silently saying three times, "Lord, hear my prayer." Amen
