The Outreach Committee is hosting a Community-Wide Block Party, which will feature live music, food, Steel City Pops, a small farmer’s market, and games and activities for children of all ages. Free admission and parking, but bring cash to support local vendors.
In many ways, we are now entering the most challenging period of the interim. By the time you read this article, the Ad Hoc Committee will have presented their recommendations to the Deacons who will have a month to think about and discuss the material before voting on their recommendation at the May Deacons’ meeting. This recommendation will come to the Church Business Meeting on May 23.
Please join us for the movie, Wonder, at our new time, 11 a.m. Enter through office door, take elevator to second floor, Room E-204. New this month will be lunch following the movie. For May, we will dine at McAlisters Deli with lunch on your own. Please call the church office at 502.895.2459 by Thursday, May 10, to let us know you plan on attending the movie and/or lunch.
For the month of May, the Love in Action Bins will be used to collect items for Chenoweth Elementary. Please bring items to the church and place them in the Love in Action Bins by the church office, in Friendship Hall, or in the Atrium by June 1. We will collect:
Gently used child-sized backpacks
New school supplies (pencils, crayons, paper, scissors, and more)
Did you know that 10% of your gifts to Broadway goes to Missions? One of our partners (and neighbors) in the community is Chenoweth Elementary.
In March, several Broadway members worked with Ebonne’ Ingram Jones (Family Resource Coordinator) at Chenoweth to install a new shelving system and storage bins so Chenoweth can more quickly respond to needs within their school.
Thank you for your generosity and to everyone who helped!
Each Sunday from June 3-July 1, the Missions Committee will sponsor a series of Hands On Projects in the Family Life Center from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. These projects will be for all ages and skillsets, and will benefit our Missions partners in the community. If you have questions, or have an idea for a project, please contact Susan Reed at email@example.com
The 2017-2018 Children’s Choir has participated in worship more than any Children’s Choir in the past six years at Broadway. Truly, this is a talented group of children and they have grown so much in their musical and spiritual knowledge and understanding this year. In addition, they have inspired us and enhanced our worship experiences numerous times, and we are grateful for their musical offerings in worship. Their last opportunity to sing in worship this semester is planned for May 13, Mother’s Day.
