Children

Intentional, scriptural, and caring are three words that best describe Broadway Baptist’s children’s ministry.

Each week in cooperation with the child’s family, Broadway attempts to build a holistic approach to the child’s knowledge of scripture. Our goal is to help guide children to an understanding of the stories of the Bible. Your child is introduced to a new Bible story on Sunday when they receive a bookmark with readings to help them prepare for the upcoming week’s activities.

On Wednesday night children attend choir where they learn songs of worship and participate in a short devotion that connects with the music they are learning. One of the scripture verses that they read on their bookmark is introduced on Wednesday evening during the devotional time. The following Sunday children attend Arise (opening assembly) It is in Arise that they play a game that connects to the scriptures that they have read throughout the week. They reread the scripture found on their bookmarks. Then they pray and move to their Sunday school classes.

Once in Sunday school the children participate in an age appropriate study of the story that they have been reading at home.

Lastly, during children’s worship a Children’s sermon is presented that is based on the scriptures that they have been reading throughout the week, reread in Arise, and discussed in Sunday school.

Each piece builds on the next creating a full picture of each Bible story presented.
