Lenten Theme: Prayer and Blessing

Our Lenten theme this year is “Prayer and Blessing.” We seek to inspire and encourage one another along our Lenten journey as we reflect upon prayers of confession and forgiveness and blessings of grace and mercy.

The season of Lent is 40 days in length, not including Sundays (Sundays are days of celebration in the Christian church and thus are not counted). Lent is a time when we prepare for Easter by observing a period of confession, forgiveness, and spiritual discipline. The liturgical color for Lent is purple, which represents preparation and forgiveness. The purpose is to set aside time for reflection on Jesus Christ: his suffering and his sacrifice, his life and death, and ultimately his resurrection.

Lenten prayer booklets are available in the Atrium and Foyer for you to use during this season.
